Straight answers
Why is it free?
It's how we meet business owners. We're an agency for home service companies (roofers, plumbers, HVAC, electricians, cleaners, landscapers and more), and if your checkup shows work you'd rather hand off, we'll offer to help. Everything in it is yours to use, whether or not you ever talk to us.
Do you need my Google login?
No. There's nothing to connect, and we never ask for access to your Google account.
Why might Google show something a little different?
- Google's counts change during the day. If Google shows one more review than we did, it came in after we checked.
- Google shows “2 months ago” instead of dates. We count by the exact date behind it.
- Reviews marked “Edited” were changed after they were first posted, so we don't count them as new.
- Searching right at your own Google pin usually makes you look better than you do a few miles out.
- AI answers change from one ask to the next, and signed-in apps also use your location and history.
How do you check?
How we check. We run Google Maps searches and read Google listings, reviews and posts through DataForSEO, a search-data provider, instead of scraping Google ourselves. Your competitors come from one Google Maps search for your trade made from your listing's map pin: the first 3 other businesses in your trade in Google's order, with your own listings, other trades, closed listings and lead-gen listings left out. The AI answers come from each assistant's own model (ChatGPT gpt-6-luna, Gemini gemini-3.5-flash-lite, Claude claude-sonnet-5-5, Perplexity sonar), asked “best <your trade> in <your city>, <your state>”. We reuse each city's answers for up to 7 days and show the date each was asked. An AI model reads each answer to pick out the business names; when it can't tell whether a name means you, we say “check by hand” rather than guess. Nothing is estimated: anything we couldn't read says so and is left out of your score. The score is our verdict against the rules shown, not a Google number.
